Baylor freshman sprinter Trayvon Bromell was honored as USA Track and Field's Athlete of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday.

The Baylor men's and women's teams both tallied top-15 finishes on Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

History was made at historic Hayward Field on Friday with Baylor freshman Trayvon Bromell blazing to a World Junior record in winning the men's 100 meter finals with a wind-legal time of 9.97 seconds.

On the second day of the NCAA Championships, the Baylor track and field team had four entries claim qualifying spots in event finals on Thursday at Hayward Field.

Senior hammer thrower Erin Atkinson nabbed All-America honors to highlight the Baylor track and field team's first day at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field.

The Baylor track and field team opens the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships with 20 student-athletes competing in 17 events over the course of the four-day event, Wednesday through Saturday, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
