Former Baylor Star Competes at Texas A&M Team Invitational

By Scott Bush

Trayvon Bromell, the 100 meter bronze medalist at the 2015 IAAF World Championships, opened up his professional career in winning fashion, easily besting the 60m Olympic Development field at the Texas A&M Team Invitational Saturday in College Station, Texas. The 20 year old former Baylor standout ran a prelimanary mark of 6.67, coming back a short while later to win the final in 6.59.

Bromell's 6.59 performance currently ranks him third best in the world and was his sixth fastest 60 meter performance of his track and field career. His best 60 meter time came at the Rod McCravy Memorial just over a year ago, when he ran 6.54. While Bromell may compete again before the end of the month, he is scheduled to compete at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on February 14 in Boston.
